Recommended items for optimal feeding experience:

• Clean and sterile bowl for mixing the hand-feeding powder with water.
  
• A heat source (eg- a brooder) to keep your baby bird(s) warm after feeding.
• Plastic feeding syringe(s) for the proper administration of the prepared formula.
• A thermometer for measuring the temperature of the water and the mixed formula.
• Paper towels for tidying any spillage.
• A food-safe disinfectant for cleaning the bowl, after feeding your baby bird(s).

Feeding:

Follow the below steps carefully for easy preparation and feeding-

1. We recommend using 'filtered water' that has been heated to 120°F (49°C), before mixing with the feeding powder. If unsure of the water quality, boil for at least 10 minutes, cool the water to 120°F, and then mix with the feeding powder. Note: Avoid using a microwave to heat the water or the mixed formula, as microwave heating can cause uneven heating and dangerous hot spots.
   
2. Refer to the mixing chart below to determine your bird's food-to-water ratio. Note that the listed ratios are just guidelines, and may be modified depending on the age, health, type of bird, and temperature of the surroundings.
3. Once the formula has been mixed thoroughly, allow the mixture to cool down until an inserted thermometer registers a temperature between 102°F - 108°F. This is the recommended temperature to begin feeding.
